The Evolving

Textbook

An Erasmus+ project

The Evolving Textbook project addresses the need for a more flexible and learners-centred approach to higher education textbooks. In contrast to traditional textbooks, the TET project will create digitized, highly adaptable, and personalized textbook content that will better suit the needs of teachers and learners. The ever-evolving textbook will allow for the inclusion of recent scientific developments in the selected fields and will support active involvement of learners in textbook evolution.

Our key focus areas

  • Addressing digital transformation through development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity.
  • Stimulating innovative learning and teaching practices.
  • Inclusion and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth and sport.

What we aim to achieve

  • Create innovative approach to provide more attractive higher education that will be adapted to individual learners’ needs and expectation.
  • Extensively use digital tools and methodologies for creating the evolving textbook by providing teachers and learners with means to dynamically co-create educational materials.
  • Better support competitiveness and employment by increasing digital readiness and capacity of learners.
  • Improved process of determining and evaluating the knowledge and competences of learners.
  • Improved practice to deal with differences in educational outcomes that are connected to distinctions in various countries’ pedagogical approaches, socio-economic states, and cultural specifics.
  • Address social, ethnic, linguistic and cultural diversity in Europe.
  • Support dynamic and committed environment inside higher education institutions that will include new digital capabilities and other good practices into pedagogical activities.
  • Promote inter-connected higher education systems by exploiting synergies with inputs from all partners’ institutions.
  • Improve management competencies and promote internationalisation of pedagogical strategies.
  • Reinforce cooperation with partners from other countries.
  • Increase quality in the preparation, implementation, monitoring and follow-up of international projects.

What we have accomplished

Work Package 2: Platform Tools Analysis

Work Package 3: Core Textbook Content Preparation

Work Package 4: Platform Development and Deployment

  • Review of the requirements and the design of the TET platform
  • TET platform basic modules development and integration
  • TET platform deployment and testing
  • Code documentation and the user manual for the TET platform usage

Work Package 5: Evaluation, dissemination and impact

  • Database of learners’ usage of the TET platform during the deployment and evaluation phase
  • Analysis of progress in learners’ knowledge and skills after using the TET platform
  • Analysis of the evolution of the evolving textbook in selected engineering fields in comparison to traditional textbooks
  • Dissemination of the project results and making a wider impact on the national and EU level
